Use case: Weekly reports See every use case

Put a bot on your weekly reports.

Automated weekly reports with AI, posted to Slack before you sit down.

It runs on a schedule, pulls the numbers, writes them up in plain words and posts the report in your team’s thread. Ask a follow-up right under it.

@Chief can you do the weekly report from now on? Same numbers I post every Monday, plus how the AI answer engines describe us.

Here’s this week’s. Signups, traffic and the social posts are written up next to last week’s, with a line on what changed. I also asked the AI answer engines about us, and two of them still describe our old pricing. The full report is attached. I’ll run this every Monday at 09:00.

What it takes off your plate

The Monday hour you keep losing.

You decide which numbers matter and what they mean. The bot pulls them, writes them up and posts the report on time.

Weekly metrics

Pulls your numbers through connected apps and writes them up in plain, short sentences.

Write up this week’s signups and traffic

AI answer checks

Asks AI answer engines about your company each week and notes what they get wrong. Our own marketer bot does this for us.

Social post review

Looks at the week’s posts and notes which ones worked and which didn’t.

Which of last week’s posts did best?

Report files

Builds the report as a Word doc, Excel sheet or PowerPoint deck when you want a file, and attaches it in the thread.

Make this month’s report as a short deck

Posts where you read

Posts the report in a team thread that shows up in Slack, so follow-up questions go right under it.

Post the weekly report in #ops every Monday

Week over week

Remembers last week’s report, so it can tell you what moved and what didn’t.

What changed most since last week?
Standing jobs

Your reports, on a schedule.

Schedules are plain, like every Monday at 09:00. The report lands in the right thread, and it keeps last week’s numbers in its notes.

  • On a schedule. Daily, weekly or once. The result lands in the thread or the Slack channel you pick.
  • Remembers how you work. Tell it once. It keeps notes, and you can read and edit every one.
  • Every job is a thread. What was asked, what it did and what came back, kept together.

A computer of its own

It builds the report on its own computer.

Your reports bot has a terminal, files and a real browser. It opens the dashboards, pulls the numbers and writes the file there. You can watch, or take the wheel.

  • Watch it live. See the page it’s on and what it’s pointing at, as it works.
  • Take the wheel. Take over to sign in or show it the way, then hand it back.
  • Files everyone can open. What it makes lands in Drive, next to the thread that asked for it.

Your week

Before and after the bot.

Without it
  • Your Monday starts with copying numbers
  • Five tabs open to write one message
  • Nobody checks what AI answer engines say about you
  • Last week’s numbers live in your head
  • The report goes out late, or not at all
With Chief
  • The report is in Slack before you sit down
  • One bot pulls from every source
  • A weekly AI answer check with what to fix
  • Each week is compared with the last
  • It runs on a schedule, every week
You stay in charge

Nothing goes out without your yes.

A report inside the team is fine. A wrong number sent to investors isn’t. So the bot posts to your threads, and asks before anything goes outside the team.

Everything in Caret

What every bot comes with.

Threads

Ask the way you’d ask a colleague. Every job keeps its own thread.

Hand-offs

Bots bring each other in by @handle, and you can step in anytime.

Its own computer

A browser, a terminal and files in Caret Cloud, asleep when it isn’t working.

Watch or take over

See its screen live, sign in for it, then hand it back.

Drive

Word, Excel, PowerPoint and PDF files land next to the thread.

Approvals

Sending, paying, posting, deploying and deleting wait for a yes.

Slack

Bots answer in the channels you pick, and you approve right there.

Schedules

Daily and weekly jobs that report back where you want them.

Memory

Notes on how your team works, which you can read and edit.

Roles

Owners, admins, members and guests, each with the right reach.

Your apps

Connect Gmail, Calendar, Notion, GitHub and more.

Your AI plan

Runs on your Claude or ChatGPT plan. Pick the model per bot.

How to start

Your reports bot, in a few minutes.

01

Make your reports bot

Give it a name, a face and a job: “Writes the Monday report from these sources. Posts in #ops. Sends nothing outside the team without a yes.”

02

Tell it what matters

List the metrics, where they live and how you want them written. Connect Slack and your data tools through connected apps.

03

Set the schedule

Pick a time, like every Monday at 09:00. Read the first report, ask follow-ups in the thread, and give your schedules a usage budget with room for daytime work.

Pricing

A bot for everyone on your team.

Priced per bot, each on a computer of its own, and your whole team joins free. No waitlist and no call: sign up on the web, and a new workspace gets a few credits for its first task. Then pick a plan.

Questions

What teams ask about automated weekly reports.

How do I automate a weekly report to Slack?

Give a bot in Caret (caretbot.com) the job and a weekly schedule. It writes the report and posts it in a thread that’s bridged to Slack.

Will scheduled AI reports run when my laptop is off?

Yes. Every bot has a computer of its own in Caret Cloud, so a schedule runs whether your laptop is open or not. The computer wakes for the job and sleeps after.

What happens if a scheduled report doesn’t run?

It can happen. Our own scheduled bots once hit their weekly model limit and six jobs didn’t run, and none could tell us. Give your schedules a usage budget, add a plain alarm that doesn’t need the model, and write down which jobs should catch up after a miss.

Can the report be a file instead of a message?

Yes. The bot can make it as a Word doc, Excel sheet or PowerPoint deck on its own computer and attach it in the thread.

How much do automated AI reports cost on Caret?

A scheduled report runs on a bot you already have, and its computer sleeps between runs. Team is $40 a bot a month ($32 billed yearly), for 2 bots or more, with a 7-day trial, and the team shares 100 computer hours and 25 credits a bot each month. Business is $100 a bot ($80 yearly), from 5 bots, with bigger computers and 150 hours and 60 credits a bot. Business Plus is $200 a bot with 160 credits a bot.
